March 8 - part 3, holiday starting early

My Tuesday afternoon class was cancelled. "The holiday is on March 8, but many teachers will want to start preparing early, so I doubt they'll come on March 7." That left me free to walk around Dushanbe and see how people were beginning their holiday celebrations.

There were a lot of people out wearing finery, carrying flowers, and hanging out with friends.

This billboard says something about mothers, connecting the seasons, and shaping the future of society into a beautiful living book. (A quote from President Rahmon)

Hope these young men appreciate their moms:

This poster--reading something about women and mothers being the source and beginning of every great work--but google translate could have misled me--was the source of fun selfie by a group of students:
These young women were also having fun with photos. They were at one of the pavilions of the Nowruz Palace, a mammoth edifice built in 2014.

Next to the palace is an amusement park which, thanks to the good weather and holiday, had sprung to life.
(In case you're interested, this billboard has another quote from the president about youth being the strength and future of the nation.)

A lot of the people in the amusement park were youth:
But, to honor the mothers, I tried to get some photos of them too:
And there were a few dads too:
I'll end with a word I heard a lot today: "с праздником" -- "holiday greetings," to the women reading this.
